Parent Forum March 2019
Although The Dawnay’s overall effectiveness was recently judged as "Requires Improvement", the OFSTED report also identified many strengths, including our Early Years provision and pupils’ Personal Development and Behaviour, which were rated ‘Good’. The Inspectors also found safeguarding practice to be robust and a whole school ethos of nurture and care.
The report recognises that the leadership team in place since January 2019 has swiftly identified the areas for improvement, and that we have high expectations, together with the drive and ambition to get the very best for pupils.
We are grateful to our parents and carers for attending one of the three information sessions, to discuss the report and the measures put in place by the school to deliver improvements. The presentation is attached below. The school SDP has been updated accordingly.
As the report acknowledges, we are already underway with our improvement programme, and whilst we know we have more work to do to ensure consistency across the school, so all our children meet their full potential, the OFSTED report recognises that ‘the school is well placed to make rapid improvements’.
Please see the attached presentation, where the School Leadership team outline the steps the school have taken, or are taking to address the improvement priorities in the 2019 Ofsted report.
