School council members are elected from each class at the beginning of the school year and the school council meets every two weeks or so. Issues are brought to the attention of school council members via their ‘class time’ and are then discussed with other school council members at the meetings. The school council also raises money for charities and for the school through their organisation of events.
The council has a chair person, a secretary and a treasurer and the children take on these roles to give them the opportunity to learn about democracy.
The school council really does make a difference in our school.
