Relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education Parental consultation
From September 2020, it is a statutory requirement that all schools in England and Wales are teaching Relationship and Sex Education as a fundamental part of the curriculum.
As part of implementing the RSE curriculum, schools must consult with the children, parents, staff and governors to ensure there is a consensus on our approaches to policy and the curriculum content.
The Dawnay School held a consultation process between Friday 7th May 2021 and Friday 21st May 2021.
As part of this, parents, staff and governors, were asked to read through the following documents and make comments on them. The documents for the consultation were:
- The Dawnay School RSE policy
- The Dawnay School RSE and PSHE curriculum
- The Dawnay School RSE scheme of work
After the consultation closed, a meeting was held for all parents and carers. A copy of the presentation can be found below. The PSHE and RSE curriculum will be implemented this summer term.
