Lower Junior Home Learning: WB 20/4/2020

Dear Otter, Hedgehog and Foxes Lower Junior Children and families

Please find attached the home learning activities for the week beginning Monday 20 th April 2020. 

Parents and Carers, please refer to the Lower Junior Home Learning Timetable to orientate your self around the key learning foci, resources and timetable for the week. 

Key Learning in subjects:

Maths: Year 3 – fractions. Year 4- decimals

English: Instructions and descriptive writing

Spellings: ‘tion’ spellings

Active 5: Information text about Anglo-Saxons

Science: Light sources and materials light can travel through

History: Invasions of Britian and creating a historical timeline, who were the Anglo-Saxons?

RE: Sikhism, how and where did it orginate?

Computing: Manipulating digital images and creating a comic strip

Art: Anglo-Saxon patterns

Music: Activity set by Mrs Wood on Charanga/Yumi platform (details on how to access have been emailed)

PSHE: Understanding feelings and how to help yourself at home

NB: We have also provided you with some answers pages to help you assess your child.

Each week you will need: black handwriting pen, a different colour pen for marking, pencil, ruler, glue stick, colouring pencils and scissors.  If you do not have these at home, you can collect them from the ‘Dawnay Drive Thru’ when it is open.

This week you will need to to have collected:

3 exercise books (Maths, English and Cornerstones)

A copy of ‘How To Train Your Dragon’

Please note: If your child is on the SEND register, after Easter Mrs Hughes will be contacting you individually to discuss how to best support your child at home. However, if you have a specific question, please contact her via the main school office email address below.

Emails will be checked daily, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 4.30pm. They will be forwarded to members of the team as necessary. We will aim to respond within 48 hours.
